Compact, flexible and with patented safety - the SPLY is a rope end termination made for intensive use in tree care.

SPLY

As a compact and clean rope end termination, the splice has a long tradition in tree care. The patented SPLY is extremely compact, as the diameter of the rope is not increased at any point and even in the splice eye only minimally. This means that the splice can easily be pulled through all common SRT and DdRT devices, eliminating the need to pull the entire rope through the device.

At the same time, the splice has an extra safety feature, because part of the core is pulled through the entire eye. (Particularly thin eye splices have no core threads in the splice eye. This means an increased safety risk if the sheath is damaged.)

Another clever detail of the SPLY is its safety device. The year marker thread, which is located inside the rope, is used for this. This eliminates the need for the rigging that is common with conventional splices, making it even slimmer. At the same time, the year marker makes it quick and easy to identify the year in which the splice was made.

The SPLY is handmade in Isny and has a maximum tensile force of 15 kN.

Advantages:

  • extremely compact and flexible
  • fits through all common SRT and DdRT units
  • innovative splice protection through an annual core thread
  • high safety reserve due to supporting core threads in the eye of the splice

Scope of delivery:

Included in the scope of delivery are:

  • your rope including SPLY
  • the serial number (not yet attached to the rope so you can still pull it through your descender)
  • instructions for use of rope and splice
  • cord to pull the splice through your descender device
