For a long time, belaying in rope teams with uneven weight distribution was a major challenge and associated with risks if the belayer was lighter than the climber. With the market launch of our innovative OHM in 2016 and the OHM II update in 2024, we were able to make the task of countless belayers significantly easier. Development at EDELRID continues apace – and so, with the OHMEGA, we now have another device in the brake assistant class that, in addition to weight compensation, makes belaying and being belayed a completely new experience thanks to the integrated rope pulley and the innovative implementation of brake assistance.
