Innovative HMS screwgate carabiner made of aluminium with a steel insert at the apex of the carabiner. The steel insert helps reduce wear in the rope-bearing area and minimizes the formation of wear grooves. By combining aluminium and steel, the carabiner brings together relatively low weight with increased wear resistance in the particularly stressed rope-bearing area. This allows the carabiner to be used for top-rope climbing as a weight-saving alternative to full-steel carabiners.
