Which is why EDELRID works with various non-profit organisations and other partners to improve climbing’s eco footprint.
EDELRID has been a member of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) since 2014. The EOCA is an association of outdoor industry businesses that help to put conservation projects into practice. It was the outdoor industry’s desire to give back to our planet that led to the foundation of the EOCA in July 2006.
Although many European companies had already established their own conservation programmes, this was an opportunity to join forces within the industry itself. As a result, EOCA has supported and allowed local grassroots projects to press ahead with protecting endangered wildlife zones, species, and habitats to a huge extent.
The Albrecht von Dewitz Foundation supports charitable projects in the fields of alpine safety and sustainable mountain sports. Albrecht von Dewitz established the foundation to contribute to the future of mountain sports and the preservation of nature. The aim of the foundation's work is to enable people to move in the mountains in the safest, least risky, and most sustainable way possible.
The foundation board is represented by experts from the outdoor industry, who work for companies including EDELRID and VAUDE. Vitus Wuhrer and Daniel Gebel represent EDELRID on the foundation board.
With the Albrecht von Dewitz Foundation, which is closely linked to EDELRID and VAUDE, the two companies are working together and beyond their own work for the good of the community. For EDELRID, this partnership offers an additional opportunity to commit to future-oriented ideas and solutions that we need to meet the challenges of our time.
