Authorities – WHO are they?

The term ‘authorities’ refers to institutional entities that fulfill a range of roles and functions in the public sector. These institutions play an essential role when it comes to upholding public order, security, and the administration of a country. They can be divided into three categories: regulators, armed forces, and law enforcement agencies. Whereas regulators are primarily responsible for administrative and regulatory tasks, armed forces specialize in defense and military security. Law enforcement agencies, in turn, focus on maintaining domestic security and combating crime.

Our Code of Conduct

Our answer to the question: WHY?

Climbing and free movement in the vertical world are activities that are all about freedom. We can only enjoy these to the full in a free and safe environment. We therefore believe that it is important to defend, uphold, and protect our freedom.

EDELRID uses the expertise that it has gained over multiple decades to ensure this and equips the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in Germany and our partner states with the best possible personal protective equipment for the vertical world.

The Code of Conduct serves as a form of self-regulation for the Authorities product range.

WHO has access to the products?

NATO, as a community of free democratic states that share common values, regards itself as a defense alliance with the common principles of peace, democracy, freedom, and the rule of law. EDELRID shares these values and wants to create a clearly delimited, transparent framework for the Authorities business by exclusively selling in NATO countries (marked in green on the map).
