In launching the Raya Lite, EDELRID presents the lightest ice screw on the market—and the only model with a replaceable tip. Thanks to the low screw-in resistance and unique shaft color coding, the new ice screws also save you time and effort when climbing. In introducing the Raya Lite, EDELRID has expanded its proven range of ice products to include yet another sophisticated option.
Ultra-light and durable
The only ice screw with an ingenious interchangeable tip
When developing the Raya Lite ice screw, the focus lay on three main aspects: durability, efficiency, and a low weight. The replaceable steel tip makes it easy to replace damaged or severely ground-down tips while reusing the aluminum shaft. This reduces waste and protects users’ gear budgets. With the medium version weighing just 70 grams, the Raya Lite is the lightest ice screw on the market. This places less weight on the harness, where the ice screws can also be particularly clearly organized thanks to the color-coded design of both the crank and the entire shaft.
EDELRID is known for sophisticated solutions that simplify life on the verticals. As such, the development team tested various combinations of wall thickness, thread geometry, and the three-pronged tip to minimize the resistance when screwing in the product. The result: the ice screw with the lowest screw-in resistance on the market. This saves time and effort on every placement. Furthermore, the inside of the Raya Lite tapers outward toward the crank, making it easier to remove the ice core after unscrewing the product.
Every Raya Lite ice screw comes in a robust tube bag made of tarpaulin and featuring a color-coded loop (yellow, blue, gray). The individual bags can be connected together by VCR for flexible and compact storage and transportation. This reduces packaging waste and avoids additional costs.
